Book your Appointments Online Confidentially

If you have access to a computer and the internet then we recommend that you book your GP appointment on line (see above link). This allows you to put your reason for your appointment without confidentiality concerns of being overheard when either booking by phone or attending the surgery to book an appointment.

Urgent Appointments

test_results9We will endeavour to see patients with urgent problems the same day provided that the emergency is a genuine one. Please telephone as early in the morning as possible (it does help if you can give the receptionist some particulars). You will be given a time to attend and will be seen as soon as possible.

Triage Services

The triage service has been introduced to ensure that as many as possible patients requiring an urgent appointment have access to a health care Practitioner on that day. The triage nurses are trained in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of minor illness or injury.

They are also able to provide support and advice over the telephone if required. They have direct access to a GP and can arrange appropriate follow up, investigations etc as necessary. The triage nurses also support the GP’s by performing home visits. Home visits are allocated by the GP to the most appropriate health care practitioner so you may be seen by one of the triage nurses if you request a home visit.

Home visits are only available for persons who are too ill to visit the surgery. Triage services are available every day. For information on how to access this service please see the flow chart or ask one of the reception staff for help.

Same Day Appointments

There are a small number of morning appointments with the GP which can only be booked on the day. Please either make an appointment on line via the Patient Access website, or ring or visit the surgery as early as possible, as these appointments are very popular.

Non Urgent Calls

If you wish to discuss something of a non-urgent nature with the doctor please ring between 11.00am and midday. If the doctor cannot speak with you immediately, please leave the telephone number where you can be contacted on that day.

Disabled Patients

The health centre has good access for wheelchairs and W.C. facilities for the disabled. A portable writing table is available upon request.
